The deadline for nominations for the Greene County Community Impact Award is approaching. This Saturday, March 13, is the final day to have nominations postmarked for consideration. Nominations can also be hand delivered to 506 S. Walnut St. in Jefferson by Saturday.
Impact Award nomination forms are available at each library in Greene County.
The award honors those who have made a difference in the Greene County community with social, educational, or cultural contributions. While communities recognize local leaders, the Impact Award seeks out those making a difference county-wide.
The Impact board includes Teena Toliver of Churdan, Jerry Herrick of Grand Junction, Elaine Schermerhorn of Scranton, Mary Weaver of Rippey, Becky Cunningham of Paton, Jerry Roberts of Jefferson, and Lawrence Geisler of rural Jefferson.
This year’s recipient will be announced April 18.
The Greene County Community Impact Award will be presented Sunday, May 1, in the Greene County courthouse rotunda at a 3 pm ceremony followed by a reception.
